Glass bottle cutter: some problem & suggestions

Q:

How can I cut the square bottles faster?

A:Here is a time-saving way to etch the glass: we can etch all corners of bottle at one time while placing the blade in a inclined angle and then etching all the flat surfaces of the bottle by placing the blade vertically.

Q:

I can’t get it to score all the way around without large gaps in between. I’m not changing pressure. What am i doing wrong?

A:Make sure that the scoring wheel is properly rotated, and that the bottle support are adjusted correctly. If when you look at it from the front if the scoring wheel is pressing on the bottle even pressure should produce a perfect score. After that pour hot water over it, then go to cold and it should crack and you could be able to use your hands to separate it. That's how I do it and I cut over a hundred bottles so far, I'm getting better and better with each one, and it is a very fast and efficient method.

Q:

I was able to get a nice score on two different bottles and shifted from hot to cold water 5+ times without any luck. Do you have any suggestions?

A:The best method I've found is to get one good etch in the bottle, then slowly go over that etching with a lighter. Go all the way around, doing your best to only heat the mark. Once finished, plunge bottle into cold water. It should come right off. It'll take a few practice bottles before you stop getting uneven / cracked bottles.
